Graham Spooner MA (Cantab) FRSA
Services to Beer Investors' Club members are managed by Graham Spooner. After graduating from St. John’s College, Cambridge in 1974, Graham has worked in venture capital and corporate finance, latterly as a consultant and non-executive director.
Graham is a non-executive director of the AIM quoted Dowgate Capital plc and a member of its Audit and Remuneration Committees. He is retained as an FSA approved advisor with its subsidiary, City Financial Associates Ltd. Also, he is the Senior Vice-Patron and Treasurer of Diabetes UK, the Chairman of Diabetes UK Services Ltd and a Trustee of the BDA Pension Life Assurance Scheme.
Previously, he was a director of 3i, Rea Brothers, Classic Fund Management and Mentor UK; head of corporate finance at Olliff & Partners and HLB Kidsons; and a non-executive director of the Downing Classic VCTs and Dunn-Line plc where he was chair of its Audit Committee.
He is the editor of ‘Venture Capital and Private Equity: A Practitioner’s Manual’ and a former editor of ’The Corporate Finance Manual’. He is the author of ‘Raising Venture Capital’ and ‘Venture Capital: A Guide for Accountants’.
